A SCHOOL raised more than £1,000 for two different charities.

Kirkstone House School in Baston presented cheques to Anna’s Hope and Debra on Friday last week.

The money was collected at a summer ball organised by the Parent Guild.

Headteacher Corinne Jones said: “We feel it is important to support local charities as well as large charitable events such as Children in Need.

“We see our school as being at the heart of the local community and our pupils understand how they can make a difference to people’s lives.”
