THE beauty of Rutland’s countryside has been celebrated in a village photo competition.

Ryhall Village Hall’s competition was set up by members to capture the essence of Ryhall and Belmesthorpe and 82 photos were submitted.

Ben Charity of Tennyson Way, Stamford, took first prize of £20 with a stunning photograph of a goose flapping its wings at the White Bridge a in Ryhall. In second place was Nick Bellairs with a classic shot of a combine harvester at work in the meadows.

Organisers were delighted with the response to the competition and the judges were very impressed with the quality of photos.
