Beavers were given a lesson in history at Stamford Town Hall.

A dozen youngsters from the 2nd Stamford group and their leader Anna Wotherspoon were shown around the hall by Stamford mayor John Binder and mace bearer Ian Hall on Tuesday.

The pair also answered questions from the children and spoke to them about the history of Stamford and the town hall.

Anna said: “The visit was both very exciting and very informative.

“The mayor and mace bearer Ian Hall were very knowledgeable on the town’s history and the group learnt a lot.

“All the beavers thoroughly enjoyed the visit, listened well and were all a credit to the scouting movement.”
