STAFF at a chip shop are celebrating after scooping a high placing in a national competition.
The Boundary, in Bridge Street, Deeping St James and Market Deeping, was a runner-up in the National Fish and Chip Shop of the Year contest.
The chip shop was presented with the eastern England award during the glittering ceremony.
Owner Philip Lye and general manager Blair Butler are over the moon with the placing in this national competition.
Owner Mr Lye, who has been in the trade for 40 years, said: “My first thank you is to our wonderful customers and then to our great staff ably led by Blair Butler.
“We love to serve the Deepings and we hope and believe that our customers have a good eating experience when they use our take-away, eat in area or the beautiful River Restaurant.”
Thrilled Mr Butler added: “We always strive to give our customers quality and a wide range of choice.”
The Atlantic Fast Food shop in Coatbridge, in Lanarkshire, scooped the national title.
