Young budding artists got creative to take part in a fun workshop at Barnsdale Gardens.

A patterns and prints workshop was held at the venue on Saturday, the second of its Big Draw events.

Taking inspiration from a variety of brightly-coloured fruit and veg from the Barnsdale allotment, visitors were encouraged to produce colourful prints, using a variety of unusual techniques and interesting materials.

Barnsdale’s Chris Hamilton, who ran the event, said: “We were busy all day everyone really enjoyed themselves and I think a lot of people were surprised at how well their efforts turned out.”

The venue is hosting another workshop, titled Take a Line for a Walk, on Saturday, from 11am to 3pm.

Entry is £2.50 per child.
