Boost for air ambulance after receiving generous donations

THE air ambulance has received a double boost thanks to two sizable donations in recent weeks.

While most people receive gifts on their birthday one Bourne resident celebrating a landmark year by giving money away.

At a party for 80-year-old Fran Alderson of Meadow Close, £1550.91 was raised for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance,

The total was raised thanks to a donation by Fran and a collection of donations which she requested instead of presents.

A cheque was presented to John Priestly on behalf of the air ambulance.

Also handing over a large sum of money recently were Brian and Josephine Lawrance, who raised £1,315 at the Morton Steam and Vintage fair which took place in June.

The money was handed over in a presentation at The Five Bells pub in Morton, with all the volunteers who helped make the weekend a success present.
