School pupils have decorated hampers to give to elderly people.
Pupils at Bourne Academy provided the hampers for those who use the Butterfield Centre in North Road, Bourne.
Each of the school’s 54 tutor groups were given an identical empty box and tasked with decorating it into a fantastic hamper for an elderly person to enjoy.
The challenge was set by art teacher Lindsay Bamber, who asked the pupils to use their creativity to decorate the outside of the box, while also showing their compassion by providing suitable gifts for the inside.
Mrs Bamber said the pupils entered into the spirit of the challenge with enthusiasm and worked together as teams to create fantastic boxes with thoughtfully chosen contents.
Centre manager Debbie Hague said: “The time and effort which was put into the decoration and contents was evident. The clients are very grateful for the kindness the pupils.”
