A CARE home has been brightened up with 20 new trees.

Bourne and District Lions Club donated the trees to the Abbey Court Care Home in Falcon Way, Bourne.

It was part of the Lions club’s remit to plant a million trees this year to demonstrate the club’s commitment to the environment. Since that was announced, the clubs have planted more than nine million trees across the world.

President of the Bourne club Maryse Brown said: “It is the newest care home in Bourne and that is why we decided to make our first donation of trees to them.

“Everyone at the home was very pleased and the home manager Phillip Barton was grateful.”

The club has more trees to plant but is still deciding where to put them.
