A BAND is hoping your votes will give them a chance to perform at London’s O2 Arena.

PowerSurge, based in Bourne, failed to win the judges’ vote at the regional finals of the Live and Unsigned competition at Bedford Corn Exchange on Saturday.

But the 16 acts which didn’t get through must now battle it out to win the highest number of text votes from their fans.

If PowerSurge wins, it will take part in the national final of the competition at the London venue in July and be in with a chance of winning a recording contract, festival slots and a UK tour.

During Saturday’s event Will Beavis, Ben Keast, James Bailey, Josh Henson and AJ Thomas, who are all aged 12 or 13, performed to an audience of 550 people.

Will’s mum Rebecca, who manages the band, said: “It was their best ever performance on Saturday so now they just hope people will get behind them and vote.”

To vote for the boys text ‘wildcard 304’ to 84222. Texts cost £1 plus the cost of a text message. Voting closes at midday on Wednesday, May 25.
