Seven Bourne-based Nene Valley Harriers raced at the National Cross Country Championships at snowy Sunderland on Saturday.
Their strongest representation came in the U15 boys race with five runners competing including Alex Hampson who led the team home with a superb 5th place.
Cameron Marshall supported extremely well in his first cross country season, crossing the line in 104th. Ollie Bowling improved on his Southern run of the previous week by 53 places to cross the line in 117th with Will Baker, another first season runner, just behind in 137th with Austin Herbert close behind.
Bradley Allan showed once again he is in fine form, coming home an excellent 85th in the U13 boys race and James McCrae broke into the top 100 in the U17s’ race, crossing the line in 98th, showing how versatile he is after his bronze in the 800m indoors recently.
The total team score of 363 placed the team 11th in the country on the day.
