A TWO-day tea party has raised more than £100 for a cancer charity.

Yvonne Ellis, 53, of Edwin Gardens, Bourne, organised the ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ at her home for Marie Curie Cancer Care which started on Saturday at 6am and finished on Sunday at about 10.30pm.

She is a former Marie Curie nurse which is why she wanted to do something for this charity.

Yvonne said: “This is a cause close to my own heart and I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while.”

Yvonne decorated her house using a yellow theme and then served breakfasts, lunches and dinners during that time. Then a raffle was drawn on Sunday.

Yvonne said: “People who came had a good time. A couple came for breakfast twice during the event too.”

Funds raised will go towards helping care for people with terminal cancer and other illnesses.

Yvonne thanked everyone who supported the event.
