An athletics club has been awarded a grant of £5,000 after coming top in a public vote.
Bourne Town Harriers have been awarded the grant by the Lloyds Community Fund Awards Process.
Club membership secretary Richard Lomas-Brown, who nominated the club, said: “We are dead chuffed. It is an amazing opportunity. It is not something that comes along that often.
“The money will open up lovely big doors that might not have been open to us before.
“I want to thank everyone who voted, it is really appreciated and it just goes to show what you can do when you get together as a community.”
The Harriers were first in the Peterborough area with 32 percent of the vote. The club will use the money to train more members as coaches and to help cover team travel costs.
