A junior football team and their devoted parents have raised more than £1,600 at the weekend to send the team on tour.

The group of 14 parents and players from Bourne Town Reds U11 football team are raising money to send the mixed team on tour in the summer of 2015.

On Saturday a bag pack at Sainsbury’s in Exeter Street, Bourne, raised £995.

A mediumship supper on Saturday night also raised £581 and the rest was made selling lucky squares and refreshments during the teams football game on Sunday.

Parent Lisa Hassine said: “We all worked tirelessly all weekend. “We are now at £2721.51 towards our £6,000 target.”
