TWO brothers who are life-long Liverpool fans are riding 96 miles on Saturday to raise money for the families affected by the Hillsborough disaster.

Steven Pope 24, of Aberdeen Close, Stamford and his brother Andy, 19, who is a student at the University of Liverpool, are cycling from Hillsborough in Sheffield to Anfield in Liverpool in one day.

The brothers organised the ride shortly after the Hillsborough Report came out on September 12. They will ride a mile for each of the 96 football fans who were crushed to death at a football game in 1989.

Steven said: “We have of course found the events of the past week very upsetting and wanted to do something for the families in their next steps.”
