A brownies group held a cake sale to raise funds for a children’s medical research charity.
Children and leaders from the 1st Oakham Brownies hosted Bake for Bumps at Oakham Guide Hall which raised £125 for Sparks.
The charity is currently funding a project at Leicester Royal Infirmary which is researching the prevention of serious infections in new-born babies.
Brown owl leader Caroline Garnett-Clarke said: “Our group of 16 brownies had such a great time. They brought in homemade cakes and biscuits and enjoyed selling them for such a worthy cause.”
Sparks regional fundraising officer Georgina Forrest said: “We are so grateful to all the girls and leaders of Oakham brownies for taking part in Bake for Bumps, our first national mass participation event.”
