A CHURCH redecoration project has been boosted by a £250 donation.

A fundraising team has been set up at Christ Church in Green Lane, Stamford, to raise £10,000 to redecorate before the church celebrates its 50th anniversary in October.

One of the members of the team, Dawn Field, who works at the Lynch Wood, Peterborough, branch of Norwich and Peterborough Building Society, approached the Stamford branch in High Street asking for help and was successful in getting £250 to buy paint. Stamford branch manager Karen Morris said: “I’m pleased our donation has helped to brighten up the church.”

Dawn added: “It has been a real community effort and the support from N&P is appreciated by all who use Christ Church.”
