Agent is keeping staff safe
A PROPERTY agent is making sure its staff are safe by training them in martial arts.
Rosedale Property Agents, which has branches in Stamford and Bourne, has employed the services of Master Parkers Serial Kickers to teach its staff basic martial arts.
Staff have so far taken part in one training seminar based on a real-life situation.
Managing director Jeremy Drew said: "Now the clocks have gone back it is dark by 5pm. That means the risk to personal safety in the estate agency profession will tick up a notch, especially when we are doing accompanied viewings in the evening on empty properties.Everyone needs to be extra vigilant to dangers that could be around the corner."
Assistant manager at the Bourne branch Catherine Brown said property agents can feel vulnerable. She said: "With what we have been taught I feel much more confident of what I could do."
Master Ian Parker, who founded the course, believes the key to safety is recognising dangerous situations before people become vulnerable and knowing how to respond appropriately.
