AN Uppingham farmer took the “best in show” award at a national event last wekeend.
Malcolm Robinson entered the national show for Dexter cows in Malvern, Worcestershire, for the first time ever this year and came away with the top prize with his bull Apple Coda.
The bull is kept at the family farm W.H. Robinson and Sons in Southorpe.
Malcolm said: “Apple Coda is seven years old and we have had him since he was two we are quite attached to him.
“We hoped he would do well. It is one we have been working towards for about a year.”
In order to enter Apple Code the family had to ensure the bull was in prime condition and a lot of work goes into making him look his best for the day.
Malcolm added: “I don’t know if we’ll enter it again. We might quit while we’re ahead. We are really pleased.”
