Barriers down after a problem at Tallington level crossing

Tallington level crossing is closed while Network Rail engineers investigate a problem.

The barriers have been down since 2pm today (Tuesday) as a safety precaution and drivers on the A1175 are being forced to avoid the village.

A Network Rail spokesman said: “Our team is out on site now investigating the problem. The barrier is down and it is safe.”

The spokesman was unable to say how long the barriers would be down for.
