A fish and chip shop has won a regional industry award.

The Boundary Fish and Chip Take Away in Market Deeping has been announced as the East Midlands regional winner of Seafare’s National Fish and Chip Awards 2014.

It will now go forward to the national finals, which will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, to compete with nine other regions for the overall title of best independent fish and chip shop in the UK.

This is the third time that The Boundary has been judged the best in the region.

General manager Blair Butler said: “It is a wonderful achievement to represent the East Midlands at the national finals and to even be in the best 10 shops in the UK with over 9,000 in Britain is a great accolade in itself.

“What makes us the best is that we source only sustainably-caught fish, the best potatoes available from local farms. We use the best oil available to cook our product in and make sure that the temperatures we cook at ensure that our product is consistently the best.”
