A food company picked up 17 awards for its pork products at a regional show.

Duncan Robinson, of Groovy Foods, Bourne, and butcher Shane Leslie impressed the judges with their range of sausages and bacon at the BPEX Regional Pork Awards.

The contest took place at Newark Showground where the company picked up one gold award, 12 silver awards and four bronze awards.

Their winning products included a pork, venison, sultana, Brie and sloe gin burger, blackberry and apple bacon, Lincolnshire faggots with apricot and Roquito, drunken ginger pig sausage and the black pudding and strawberry jam sausage.

Duncan said: “We were pleased with the awards as it was our first time in this regional competition. It was a good learning experience and next year we are certainly going for gold throughout. The judges loved our recipes and ideas so there is lots of potential for next year.”

Groovy Foods has been trading on the outskirts of Bourne since 2007.
