Two friends are set to open a new clothes store in Uppingham today.
Ellie Marshall and Nikki Thorpe are the proud owners of Twist and Turn which will be welcoming customers through its doors in High Street.
Specialising in women’s fashion, Nikki said the pair jumped at the chance to open the store.
She said: “It’s something we wanted to get involved with for a long time and when the opportunity came up to put our own spin on ladies’ fashion it was just too good to miss.”
Ellie is a seamstress and designer pattern cutter and will be using her expertise to source both British and European fabric and design.
She said: “It’s been great fun seeing the industry from a different angle, we’ve already been to several fashion houses and experienced London Fashion Week so we really are at the cutting edge of what’s new this year and we can’t wait to tailor this to the ladies of Rutland and surrounding areas.”
Nikki owns the salon Good Hair Days in Hope’s Yard, off North Street East, and although being an expert in a different type of cutting, is excited to lend her expertise to the new partnership.
Originally the duo were looking to open a designer label dress agency, but when Twist sadly closed, it seemed to them a great chance to run the two side by side, before coming up with the name Twist and Turn.
A launch evening was held yesterday evening, to give customers the chance to see new collections.
