Village residents will be able to find out more about plans to bring high-speed broadband to their homes this week.
Gigaclear is holding two public exhibitions on its plans to supply a fibre-to-the-home network to Tallington, Bainton, Barnack, Helpston, Marholm, Ashton, Pilsgate and Ufford.
People can find out more at Helpston Village Hall from 7.30pm to 9pm on tomorrow (Wednesday) and Barnack Village Hall from 7.30pm to 9pm on Thursday.
Gigaclear will press ahead with plans to supply the villages if 30 per cent of residents sign up for the service. The company will connect to the Peterborough CORE network, currently being built by CityFibre. GigaClear will then be able to offer speeds of up to 900Mbps for both downloads and uploads to rural residents.
A package including ultrafast broadband and landline telephone would cost £43 per month. Gigaclear says it can deliver speeds of up to 900Mbps for both uploads and downloads.
