More than 750 people have signed a petition calling for a council to help fund a bridge over a level crossing.

Ken Otter and the Tallington Bypass Action Group want Lincolnshire County Council to set aside £4.6m for a road to link a bridge over the railway line with the A1175.

Network Rail is carrying out a feasibility study into closing the crossing.

Mr Otter hopes to get enough support to convince councillors to include the scheme in this year’s budget when it is set on Friday.

In about three weeks 750 people have signed the online petition at http://epetitionslincolnshire.firmstep.com/petitions/pass-tallington-level-crossing-now.

Mr Otter thanked those who had signed so far and added: “This petition is to help you and save you time in the future.”
