Councillors have agreed a new business support service to encourage more entrepreneurial spirit across the district.
South Kesteven District Council has launched the business support project, to be delivered on its behalf by Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce.
The scheme offers 12 months of support to start-ups and micro businesses.
The council has set up the project in response to demand for professional support from businesses with potential to grow.
Portfolio holder for grow the economy Frances Cartwright (Con) said: “We have listened to small business owners and recognised their need for support.
“We are delighted that with the help of Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce we can offer this alongside our other initiatives.”
Help and support will be available online and on a free phone number for one-to-one advice.
Firms will also be able to book meetings with an advisor.
Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce will take business support out on the streets by attending street markets, job centres and established business networking groups.
Chief executive Simon Beardsley said: “We feel privileged to work with the team at South Kesteven and offer an improved package of support for businesses across Market Deeping, Stamford, Grantham and Bourne.”
