A new company which prints a range of notebooks has proved a big hit with thousands of retailers at a national show.
The Stamford Notebook Company, which launched in November, attended London’s Top Drawer trade show and took orders from shops in London, Hampshire, Northumberland and Toronto in Canada.
Lifestyle blogger and notebook fan, Essie Button, visited the Stamford Notebook exhibition stand and posted a video on YouTube, including the notebooks, which had more than 27,000 views in less than 24 hours.
The Stamford Notebook Company brand was founded by Hugo Spiegl, owner of Spiegl Press, who has been printing and bookbinding for more 20 years and local businessman and self confessed notebook fanatic, Paul Sloggett.
Paul said: “We couldn’t believe the interest in our notebooks at the show, it was hugely flattering.
“Not only from retailers but also well known visitor attractions from Britain and Europe wanting notebooks with their logos and crests to sell in their shops.
“Since Essie Button posted her video on YouTube we’ve had over 3,000 page views on our little website and she has promised to visit Stamford.
“We have also had an e-mail from a trade magazine covering the show saying they have chosen us as a ‘Best Selected Exhibitor’ to feature in their magazine.”
The team at Stamford Notebook Company is working on a whole range of new colours and textures to add to its range and will soon have more than 60 different versions in two sizes.
Hugo said: “The family business has been going for over 50 years. Neither my father nor I have ever experienced anything like the interest in Stamford Notebooks.
“We knew we could make authentic and beautiful notebooks, with paper from a Scottish mill, all handbound in Stamford and it seems people from all over the world agree.”
Stamford Notebook prices range from £14.95 and can be personalized with initials for a small extra charge.
The Stamford Notebook Company has an online shop.
