The owners of a new restaurant are using their own upbringing to bring new flavours to Stamford.

Ertunch and Shelly Kazim are now welcoming customers to The Fat Turk in St Paul’s Street, Stamford.

The restaurant offers a Turkish-inspired menu which is heavily influenced by its owners’ Turkish-Cypriot childhoods.

Shelly said: “This is food we have both grown up with. We lived in Cyprus for five years and it is food we know very well.

“We cook it all on charcoal so the flavours are really good. And since we opened it has been so good - much better than we expected.”
