A restored furniture shop has opened at Fineshade Woods.

Charlotte Blair launched the business venture after she became unemployed and discovered a flair for revamping unused furniture which had been stored in her garage. She set up her business, Serendipity Cottage, with the help of Enterprise4Corby at home and is now renting a unit at Fineshade Woods which sells furniture and gifts.

Charlotte said: “We are highly environmentally conscious and pride ourselves on the fact that we use reclaimed furniture and fabrics and upcycle it to fit within the modern home and to the customers own specifications.

“I recycle old paint to make my own chalk paint and use a lot of reclaimed wood and vintage fabrics so I’m also preventing a lot of items going into landfill.”
