A BABY and children’s shop in Stamford is celebrating its first birthday.

Bubble and Squeak opened its doors and year ago last Saturday in High Street, Stamford, and staff put on a range of fun activities to mark the occasion.

Young shoppers had their face painted and took part in a colouring competition, free cake pots were handed out, and money was collected in aid of local children’s charity Anna’s Hope.

The store is owned by Sarah Walter and her daughter Jess Christoudias, who are helped by sales assistant Jessie Gray.

Sarah said: “It was a very busy day and there was a lovely buzz in the store. I would like to say thanks to all the customers for a really enjoyable year and we’re looking forward to the next one. These are not easy times to open a shop but we’ve been gratefully encouraged by last year.”
