THE delivery office in Wansford is to close, with services moved to Peterborough.
Royal Mail confirmed yesterday that the office will close on Monday, although the post office itself will stay open.
Delivery services will be handled at the office in Orton Southgate.
Customers will still be able to collect packages from the post office in Wansford, which is open 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 12.30pm on Saturday.
Only items with a sur-charge or custom charge will be held in Peterborough.
There will be no compulsory redundancies at the delivery office and the two staff will be reimbursed for any extra mileage incurred by a change to their place of work.
Royal Mail lead collection and delivery sector manager, Duncan Stephenson, said: “Our service to customers will continue to be a top priority during these changes.
“Customers in Wansford can be reassured that we will do all we can to minimise disruption.”
