A CHEF cooked up a sweet seaside feast for his appearance on a national television programme.

Dameon Clarke, head chef at Assiette restaurant in St Paul’s Street, Stamford, will feature in the December 7 episode of the ITV show Britain’s Best Dish: The Chefs.

The episode was filmed over three days in September. The crew came to Stamford for one day and filmed Dameon at work in his restaurant. He then went to London for two days to cook his dish.

Dameon is one of 112 chefs featured in the competition. He said: “The show was nerve-wracking but it was good fun and I met quite a few famous people, including Stacey Solomon and David Hasselhoff.”

Dameon’s recipe was called Seaside Favourites and featured his own spin on traditional treats such as a Cornetto ice cream, candy floss and a stick of rock.

His recipe is featured in the book which accompanies the series, produced in association with the Good Food Guide.

Dameon is not allowed to tell anyone if he got through to the next round until after the show has aired. Tune in to ITV at 5pm on December 7 to find out how he did.
