Updated 4.30pm: A BANK which closed after a stone fell from the roof to the pavement outside will reopen as normal tomorrow (Saturday).
NatWest in High Street, Stamford, has been closed to customers all day today (Friday) after a section of masonry on the roof above the front door came loose and fell last night.
Workmen put up scaffolding to inspect the damage and have cleared away any loose rubble. The bank will be open as usual at 9am tomorrow.
NatWest spokesman Nigel Meffen said: “In situations like this our primary concern is for the safety of our customers and staff. We closed the branch as a precautionary measure.”
The bank’s outside cash machines are still available to customers.
