Oakham post office reopens
Oakham post office
A post office has reopened to the public after an audit.
Oakham post office in Market Place had been closed since Wednesday while staff carried out an audit.
The audit is now finished and the office is open to the public again.
A Post Office spokesman said: “We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of Oakham post office.”
It was understood last week that the closure was because of the theft of a delivery van but the spokesman said it was unrelated.
The van was stolen from outside the office at about 2.25pm on Wednesday.
Police found the van abandoned a short distance away from the scene within half an hour. Nothing had been taken.
