A Pointon-based company specialising in coach holidays to Europe has merged with rivals.

Pointon based Southern Holidays has merged with coach operator AC Williams to double in size.

Together the merged companies will offer a fleet of about 30 vehicles, ranging from executive coaches through to double deckers and wheelchair minibuses and the merger will see the two companies offering a total of 50 holiday departures and more than 200 day trips next year, alongside their schools, UK and European contracts.

Southern Holidays directors Leigh and Rebecca Robbins and all the employees will continue in the newly merged group, moving from their Pointon base to the AC Williams site in Ancaster.

Southern Holidays was established in 1998 to provide package holidays to Spain.
