Tallington bridge plans will be shown to the public next year

Detailed plans to close a level crossing and replace it with a bridge and link roads will be shown to village residents next year.

At a public meeting of Tallington Parish Council, Coun Geoff Mayling revealed that Network Rail’s scheme to divert traffic over the railway line and around the village are progressing well.

He told the meeting that councillors were in regular contact with the firm and with Lincolnshire County Council about the project.

Coun Mayling said Network Rail would give a public presentation of design drawings in the new year, although construction work would not begin for another two years.

He also said an archaeological dig may be needed as two circles which may date back to the stone or bronze ages have been discovered.
