PEOPLE made the most of their long weekend at a beer festival.

The Grainstore Brewery in Station Approach, Oakham, began the 13th year of its bank holiday festivities at 5pm on Thursday.

A total of 85 real ales and ciders were on offer throughout the weekend, with the festival coming to a close at midnight on Monday.

The pub offered a barbecue and live music every day and the venue was packed with people all through the weekend.

The music lineup included Welland Valley Stompers, a six-piece band playing a wide variety of jazz, and Soul Sensation returning for their fifth year at the festival.

Entry was free and people were able to place a deposit on a commemorative glass, which was theirs to keep if they wanted.

If not, they could return it for a full refund.

Manager Pete Atkinson was pleased with how things went.

He said: “The festival was exceedingly good. We were very busy the whole way through.

“We have had a lot of positive feedback this year.

“We had a good selection of beers, some great bands and excellent staff working.”
