A new craft shop which will also hold workshops for people wanting to learn a new skill has opened in Bourne.

Magpies Nest, based at the former children’s nursery off Burghley Street car park is run by best friends Rose Saunders and Gaynor Leigh.

The store has been open to the public for two weeks and was officially opened by Bourne mayor David Higgs.

Business partner Gaynor said: “Rose and I have been best friends for many years and dabbled in all kind of craftwork.

“We always thought it would be good to find somewhere that crafters could display and sell their work and also give advice to others through workshops.

“We are also selling an array of small antique items.

“We believe very strongly in recycling and many items have been upcycled to bring them back to life.”

The store is selling space to craftsmen and women and collectors who wish to sell their goods, from £10 a week.

Anyone interested in displaying their work or running courses should call 07442131057.
