The colourful sights and scenes of Rutland have been celebrated in a new calendar.

Photographer Richard Adams has been snapping away all year to put together a collection of picturesque images of the county in The Rutland Calendar 2013.

It is the 13th year that Richard, who lives in Oakham, has produced the county’s calendar.

Funds raised from sales of the 2013 edition will go towards the Rutland Historic Churches Preservation Trust and Cancer Research UK.

It is hoped more than £1,000 will be raised.

From diamond jubilee and Olympic celebrations, to Oakham’s In Bloom efforts and the snowy shores of Barnsdale at Rutland Water, the calendar captures seasonal landscapes, village scenes and local events throughout the county.

Speaking about his work, Richard said: “I always relish the challenge of finding 12 pictures which give a balanced view of what Rutland has to offer but the county always lives up to its motto of “Multum in Parvo” and seems to provide fresh surprises every year.”

The calendar is priced at £5.99 and is available at Tesco in South Street, Oakham, bookshops and post offices throughout Rutland.

It is also being sold at Walkers Bookshop, in High Street, Stamford , and Burghley Gift Shop.
