A FREE car maintenance workshop for women was attended by more than 25 people.

The Women at the Wheel event was held at West Street Garage in Foundry Road, Stamford, and taught women how to carry out basic vehicle maintenance checks in a relaxed environment.

The course covered a wide range of essentials, including how to locate, check and top up oil, coolant, power steering and windscreen wash fluids, check tyre condition and pressure, check and change wiper blades and seat belt safety.

Members of the garage team were also on hand to answer any car-related questions.

Company director Adrian Tyler said: “This was the first women-only workshop we have run and aimed to give them the knowledge and confidence to tackle the basic techniques of car maintenance.

“We know people want their cars to run safely and economically and, armed with a better understanding of their car’s care needs, they will help prolong their vehicle’s life.”
