A VILLAGE jumble sale raised more than £360.

The sale was organised by the Party Girls group of Castle Bytham to raise funds for the annual Christmas lunch for senior citizens in the village.

The money will also help pay for the group to celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee on June 2 with an afternoon tea.

Items such as books, clothing and other household goods were donated and sold at the village hall, in Pinfold Road, on Saturday 17 and the group was very grateful for all those who helped out.

Group member Angela Harris said: “We raised a lot of money which was very good and I’m very grateful for all the support we’ve had.

“I would like to thank everyone who helped out by donating items or by coming along and buying things.

“The funds will pay for the senior citizen’s annual Christmas lunch, and also this year, an afternoon tea for them to celebrate the jubilee.”
