SCHOOL pupils have handed over a DVD they made of celebrations for the Queen’s diamond jubilee.

In June, at the invitation of the Lord Lieutenant of Rutland Dr Laurence Howard, Rutland Sailability provided the boat and crew to represent Rutland in the Diamond Jubilee Pageant on the River Thames.

As part of the project to provide the boat the preparations and rehearsals for the event were recorded by pupils in the media team at Catmose College in Oakham.

Following the pageant the team, an extra curricular group which produces newsletters and runs a website and radio station at the school, produced a 10-minute DVD which recorded the preparations for the event and the event itself.

Copies of the DVD were presented to the Lord Lieutenant and the High Sheriff of Rutland Bart Hellyer at a reception at Barnsdale Lodge.

A copy was also presented to Rutland library and heritage manager Emily Barwell at Rutland County Museum in Oakham. That copy will be available for viewing in the library and will also form part of the historical records of the county of Rutland. Copies of the DVD are available from www.Rutland-Sailability.org
