A care home in Bourne has been presented with a certificate recognising them as a Dementia Friendly Community.

Cedars Bourne was delighted to receive the award last Wednesday from South Lincolnshire Dementia Support.

The presentation came as part of a cheese and wine evening held in support of Dementia Friends.

Heather Gilling, Chairman of South Lincolnshire Dementia Support gave a talk for family and friends of The Cedars, as well as presenting them with their new certificate.

Cedars are only the third organisation in Bourne to achieve this honourable award.

Helen Brewster, Matron at Cedars said: “I am very proud on behalf of everyone living and working at The Cedars.

“It is vitally important that we all support each other and our local communities and become recognised as Dementia Friendly communities.”
