THE worthy winners of our Little Stars Competition 2011 have received their prizes during a presentation ceremony.

Overall champion Daisie Hawkins, who was the winner of the newborn to 18 months category, was at the ceremony on Monday with her parents Sophie Birch and James Hawkins, of Greetham.

Kayleigh and Leon Fedasch, of Stamford, also attended with Caitlyn Fedasch, the winner of the 18 months to three years category, and Clare Harris, also of Stamford, brought her son Reece Collings, the winner in the three years to six years age group.

Daisie received a package of photographs from Starlight Studios, the photographers who took the pictures for the competition, as well as an annual family pass to Twinlakes in Melton Mowbray and a £50 Lands’ End voucher.

All the winners received a canvas print of their winning photo and Caitlyn and Reece also received a day pass to Twinlakes and £50 Lands’ End vouchers. All the winners got chocolates and flowers.

Sophie said of Daisie’s win: “I wasn’t shocked because I knew my Daisie would win! But we were very happy and the photograph is lovely.”

Kayleigh and Leon were getting married in Cyprus when they received a text informing them of Caitlyn’s win.

Kayleigh said: “It was a fantastic wedding gift.” And Reece’s mum Clare, said: “I was ecstatic to find out Reece had won his category.”

Mercury editor Eileen Green said: “It was a delight to meet our winners. We are very grateful to everyone who entered and I would like to thank Starlight Studios, Twinlakes and Lands’ End for providing such wonderful prizes.”
