Chance to join cricket stars as ‘12th man’ for Stamford’s England Masters match

CRICKET fans have the chance to take to the field with a host of the game’s former stars in Stamford’s cricket event of the summer.

Event organisers have announced they are giving people the opportunity to run around for the likes of Freddie Flintoff and David “Bumble” Lloyd in an online 12th man auction for the Professional Cricketers’ Association England Masters match at Stamford School.

People can bid to do the honours for the former professionals, who will take on a team of local cricketers led by former England bowler Dean Headley, at the event on July 27, by e-mailing a bid to, titled “12th Man Bid”.

The winner, who will be announced on July 25, will also be given two guest tickets for the hospitality marquee, which includes a four course lunch, an England Masters signed shirt, as well as their own shirt with name and number and a photo taken with the team. For terms and conditions visit
