A CHARITY ball which was attended by about 150 people raised more than £6,000.

Vicki Culverhouse, the managing director of Straightahead Telemarketing Services based in Market Deeping, organised the ball which took place at The Haycock Hotel in Wansford on Friday, October 7.

Vicki, who lives in Bourne, organised it in aid of the Peterborough Rape Crisis Service.

She said she chose the charity because rape is something people rarely talk about or raise funds for.

Vicki said: “I’ve never done anything for charity before so it was something I wanted to do.

“We had a raffle and charity auction on the night and it was a brilliant turnout.

“I was really pleased with how it went and particularly with the amount we raised.”

She thanked her operations manager Clare Gockel for her help in organising the event, as well as all the businesses which had supported the event with raffle or auction prizes.
