A charity which supports seriously ill people in Rutland is hosting an event to make people aware of how to use vital lifesaving equipment.

The Karen Ball Fund, which helps fund the installation of defibrillators in the county, is holding a defibrillator awareness day on Saturday, between 9am and 1pm, in the Oakham town council chamber, in the Victoria Hall, High Street.

There will be demonstrations of how to use the equipment and information of how to apply for grants towards the cost.

A defibrillator is a machine used on someone having a cardiac arrest to give the heart an electric shock.
