CHILLY winds did not cool the enthusiasm of teams taking part in Stamford’s annual It’s a Knockout event.
Twelve groups took part in the fun and games at Stamford Rugby Club in Empingham Road on Sunday.
The event, inspired by the television show of the same name, saw participants take on a number of challenges on huge inflatable structures, including a giant hamster wheel.
Members of the crowd could watch the fun unfold or take part in a number of activities themselves, including quad biking and fairground rides.
The event was organised by the Rotary Club of Stamford St Martin’s and raised about £2,000 for the club’s charities.
Rotarian George Hetherington said: “The teams that took part had a great time. They were thoroughly enjoying themselves, hurling themselves around and splashing in the water.
“Their supporters stayed around to watch them and cheer them on and Rotarians felt it was a great day.”
Mr Hetherington said the chilly weather meant the event was less well attended than last year, but was pleased to see people turn out and support the teams.
He added: “We had a number of comments about how much better the field looked on the day. We want it to be fun and community-minded, which we did achieve.”
