AN autumn fair raised more than £1,100 for church funds.

The fair is run annually at Christ Church in Green Lane, Stamford, and fundraisers were delighted with the support shown by visitors and businesses donating prizes towards a raffle.

Visitors browsed stalls selling Christmas decorations, books and bric-a-brac, and cakes during the fair, which took place on Saturday.

The church celebrated its 50th anniversary this year and a commemorative tea towel was also on sale.

Chairman of the fundraising committee Dawn Field said: “It was a very good event and we were pleased with the support.

“Lots of local businesses donated prizes towards a grand raffle, which was very generous, and we are grateful for their support.

“We had lots of people coming through the doors all day and we were pleased with what we raised which will go into the church’s general funds.”
