It’s that time of year again for the magic of Christmas to light up the streets of Stamford, Bourne and The Deepings.
Preparations are already underway for the annual Christmas fair’s in Stamford, Bourne and Market Deeping, which all hope this year will be even bigger and better than before!
The traditional Stamford Christmas Festival will be returning to the heart of Stamford on November 30, running from 10am-6pm.
The event will be held in the centre of Stamford including, Stamford High Street, Broad Street, Red Lion Square and Ironmonger Street.
There will be a number of exclusive and independent traders selling unusual gifts and food and drink delights on the day, along with a number of traditional craft stalls.
To get into the festive spirit there will be plenty of entertainment on show including, festive punch and judy shows, school choirs, santas grotto, children’s fun fair and the famous Christmas lights switch on.

A magical Christmas will also be coming to Bourne, for the annual Christmas extravaganza.
This years event will be held on November 29 and will have a magical theme featuring an continental market, live music, live displays and entertainment, fun fair, Christmas carols, street market (indoor and outdoor) and of course a very special visitor who goes by the name of Santa Clause.
Gordon Cochran, from Gordon’s Photographic, Bourne, is organising this year’s festivities and wants the people of Bourne to come and get involved.
Gordon has great hopes for this years event and wants to attract more people to come along and enjoy the festive fun.
He said: “This is a great event and we would love for everyone to come along and get involved.”
Gordon will be holding a meeting on October 29 at the Angel Hotel in Bourne, 6pm, for anyone who wants to come along and find out more information about how they can get involved.
Gordon adds: “I would like people to get involved, whether you’re from a club that wants to showcase a special talent, or maybe you want to run a market stall - come along and have a chat.”
In Market Deeping the popular Christmas Market returns this year on November 30 held in the historic Market Place.
The market will feature a number of traders selling a wide range of goods from cheeses, meats, cakes and locally brewed beer to jewellery, paintings, gift ideas and much more.
As well as the traditional market and craft stalls, there will be plenty of entertainment on the stage from local groups and schools.
The event will start at 10am when Santa arrives on his sleigh and the Town Crier declares the market open.
There will also be a children’s fun fair, along with food and drink for the whole family.
At 4.30pm the Mayor of Market Deeping, Councillor Roy Stephenson, along with special guest, Frozen’s ‘Princess Anna’, will launch the countdown and switch on the town’s festive lights
Alongside the Christmas Fair will be the annual Junior Town Crier competition taking place at around lunch time.
Market Deeping’s official Town Crier, Amanda Bosworth, will be on hand to coach and prepare entrants for when they take to the stage.
