An annual Christmas lunch held by a popular local fundraiser has raised more than £1,000 for charity.
Nellie Sanders, 89, of Gladstone Street, Bourne, organised the lunch, which took place at Bourne Abbey Church Hall on Sunday for Cancer Research UK.
Mrs Sanders said she was delighted as ever with the turnout of 80 people who helped raise more than £1,320.
Mrs Sanders’ regular supporters enjoyed a meal and there were a variety of stalls.
Mrs Sanders said: “It was fabulous.
“To make that much in three hours, I couldn’t quite believe it.”
“Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
“I can’t thank people enough, especially all the helpers in the kitchen and the bar who all helped to make it a lovely day.
“I think it is excellent to make this much money at this time of year.”
“It was absolutely marvellous.”
Mrs Sanders has raised thousands of pounds over the years for various charities.
